Goals

The primary purpose of the Council is providing opportunities for developing and improving the capabilities of Maine teachers of English language arts. Appropriate activities for the Council include:

• working to raise professional standards for the education and preparation of teachers of English language arts;
• working to provide wider opportunities for professional growth;
• developing strategies for alleviating problems facing teachers in Maine schools and instructing teachers how to use these strategies.
