Welcome to the Maine Council for English Language Arts

This council is a statewide organization dedicated to exploring, communicating and improving ideas concerning the teaching of English Language Arts. We welcome all persons interested in this pursuit: educators, retired educators, writers, publishers, politicians, citizens, etc. MCELA provides its members with updated information about education laws and policy through our listserv and links. Our members share strategies for improving teaching practices, support each other in the struggles of teaching and participate in opportunities to celebrate the wonder of literature, writing and teaching.
